For the book "Elk's Resolve" I have the option of having the creative department of Tate Publishing make a book trailer for me or they will make an abridged version of the book on CD. The CD would be 25% shorter than the book.
The reason for the abridgment is so that the cost would be lower than it was for "Nan's Journey". In comparison to book sales, I have sold 35 copies of the audio CDs vs 1107 books. I am torn about what to do.
What do you think? Seriously!
Hi Elaine,
ReplyDeleteMy second book is now in line for review at Tate, and if accepted, the idea of a trailer excites me. Why? People are visual. Look at all the online trailer videos we bump into each day online. Look at your own Nan’s Journey U-tube trailer--very impressive. It was one of the first things I perused when first visiting your blog. I didn’t actually read any of your comments until later when I had more time. The trailer generated enough interest to make me want to purchase your book. Either way, you’ll have benefit of Tate staff doing their utmost to assist you during production.
My 2-cents, and good luck!
I vote for the trailer. I think they are very effective.
