Super Sticks by Lisa Newkirk

I remember being in the lunchroom in elementary school when a girl came into the room who was in a wheelchair. Somehow, I couldn't get past the wheelchair. Lisa Newkirk's book shows Deborah, a girl with Spina Bifida, as a super hero with her crutches. I think this book will lead children to know that even if someone has to use a wheelchair, crutches, or even a white cane, they can still be a fun friend to have.
